We attended LAS’s 2nd Annual Booze and Dance Dinner and Dance. I’ve been to a few D&D myself back with Dad’s previous company but this is probably the first time I’ve been to one held in a club. The “dinner” part might be a little misleading as there wasn’t much dinner unless dinner means trays of finger food that doesn’t fill you up. Well, the drinks, on the other hand, were flowing freely and easily.
The company brought down this drum ‘n beats percussion troupe, Wicked Aura Batucada. I thought they were awesome, energetic and really brought the festive celebration up a notch. When I turned back to look at the rest of the crowd, I found most of them merely watching the performance with arms folded in front of them. For a bunch of guys who were supposed to be artistic and liberal, they looked like a bunch of stiffs watching a concert. It wasn’t til much later in the night and during the band’s second performance segment that people started moving to the beat, I guess that’s when the alcohol in their blood has reached optimum level. Some of them were starting to look silly.
Those who didn’t win anything during the lucky draw had the chance to pick up a goodie bag. Inside were mugs of assorted Star Wars design. I was about to use the mug this morning for breakfast when I noticed a label at the bottom. It says that the mug contains one or many chemicals known in the state of California that causes cancer and reproduction disorders. Needless to say, I went back to my old mug. Is the label for real or are the mugs merely for decorative purposes?? :???:
Hmm…I didn’t notice. I think the mug went into the cupboard…together with most of the mugs in the house.
-luffs at the bit about the cup-
That was some serious shit really.. I don’t want to drink from it and have kids with birth defects.
I need to take a picture of it.
